This guide explains how to update the Regula Document Reader SDK template database to ensure support for new documents and improved recognition capabilities. The database can be updated automatically via the internet or manually using downloaded files.
Requirements
- A Regula Document Reader device connected to your workstation.
- Access to the Document Reader application settings.
- Internet connection (required for automatic updates).
- Administrator privileges to modify application directories.

Automatic Update via Internet

Enable auto-update in settings:
- Open the Document Reader application.
- Navigate to Settings → General.
- Turn on Check for updates to enable automatic checks.
- Optional: Enable Allow silent DB update for auto-update without user notification.
- Restart the application. The system will download and install updates automatically if available.
Manual Update via .dat File
