RFID detection does not work under Remote Desktop connection

When you connect to a PC with Regula Document Reader via Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) you would be unable to use RFID reading function.

This happens due to Windows security architecture, which restricts direct access to smart card and NFC devices over Remote Desktop Protocol.
When you connect to a workstation via RDP, the system creates a virtualized hardware environment that does not expose USB or serial interfaces directly to the remote session.

As a result, the RFID reader, which communicates through a smart card subsystem (PC/SC interface) or direct USB access, cannot be detected or used by the Regula Document Reader software.
Windows intentionally limits this functionality for security reasons.

To resolve this issue we recommend to use remote access tools from other developers, e.g. TeamViewer, AnyDesk, RAdmin etc.
