Document presence sensor vs Video Detection Mode

Our solution supports several types of document detection: standard and video detection.

Standard

In this mode, when you place a document on the glass and perform a scan, you get all the results in the OnProcessingFinished event. This occurs when the document presence sensor reports that the document is present.

Video detection Mode

When video detection mode is activated, the presence of a document is detected not only by the hardware sensor, but also by analysing camera frames for rectangular objects with certain parameters (e.g. passports).

In this mode, the reader processes all received frames with the camera by capturing movements over the glass with it camera and turning on the white light without placing the document directly on the reader's glass. All results can be retrieved in the OnResultReadyXML event.
