Issue:
When running CentOS/Rocky/AmazonLinux on a Proxmox virtual environment, the error CPU doesn't support image x86_64-v2 occurs.
Solution:
To solve this, follow these steps:
-
Open the Proxmox Virtual Environment. Log into your Proxmox account and navigate to the Datacenter section.
-
Go to the settings of the virtual machine. Find and select your virtual machine from the list on the left. Navigate to the Hardware tab.
-
Check the processor settings. Find the Processors section and make sure that host is specified in the field Type.
- If another type of processor is specified, change it to host, by double-clicking on the Processors line and selecting host from the list under the Type setting.
-
Save the changes. Click OK to save the changes and close the settings window.
-
Restart the VM. Return to the virtual machine overview and press Start to restart.
